Community Policing and Proactive Safety Measures

• Establish a uniform system across residence halls for Student Access Monitors (SAMs) by adding two-factor authentication of Photo-ID

  • Establish Guest Passes to make it easier for overnight guests. ​

• Ensure there are modern systems of reporting

  • Including texting options for emergency situations​

• Implement banner strips to high volume areas (modeled after Virginia Tech) 

• Add Active Shooter protocol to the syllabus

  • Inform the student body on training and safety measures (using new student orientation as an opportunity to educate)
